Sustainable actions

Good for you, good for the environment

Organic farming is an agricultural production method that excludes the use of most synthetic chemicals, commonly used in industrial and intensive agriculture. By practising sustainable agriculture, our goal at TournevenT is to promote soil health, preserve biodiversity, and maintain water quality.

This is why we have adopted regenerative and sustainable agricultural practices, such as:

Composting

Cover cropping

Mechanical weeding

Green fertilizers

Weeds / pest insects

Recycling

Co-products

Circular economy

The integration of organic oil production makes TournevenT an enterprise that operates under a vertical integration model. This means we are both producers of the raw materials and processors, all within a circular economy perspective that aligns with our values of sustainable development. By maintaining year-round operations, the company ensures the availability of a skilled workforce.

The revitalization of resources drives our operations. Specifically, we avoid any waste, and what is produced by TournevenT is reused. For example, by-products will serve as green manure or natural fertilizer to enrich the soil, thus benefiting our crops. Co-products are revalued with partner farms such as Ferme Villoise, which feeds their pigs with our canola meal, or they are sent to compost to return to the earth.

Eco-responsible packaging

Although we believe that "no packaging" is the best option, we are committed to preserving the nutritional quality of TournevenT products while minimizing our ecological footprint. This is why we pay particular attention to the choice of packaging to ensure that it primarily serves a function of conservation and preservation.

Garlic and garlic scapes: The mesh bag for garlic ensures the necessary ventilation for the product. The perforated bag for garlic scapes allows them to be stored in the fridge for up to a month.

Oils: Dark bottles increase the shelf life of the product for up to 18 months on the shelves without being opened.

Grains and legumes: The bags are recyclable.

The commitment to sustainable tourism by 2030

TournevenT has signed the commitment to sustainable tourism by 2030 to demonstrate its dedication to enhancing its sustainable development performance by 2030.

The United Nations World Tourism Organization defines sustainable tourism as "tourism that fully considers its current and future economic, social, and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment, and host communities."

Each year, we commit to measuring and improving our sustainability performance in the following ways:

Structuring our sustainable development approach: Quantify the company's performance using performance indicators and measurable objectives for each key issue.

Supporting staff integration and training: Further guide and train our personnel on our key issues.

Communicating best practices: Share our good practices with our customers.

Improving energy efficiency: Enhance the energy efficiency of our operations and building.

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions: Decrease emissions related to operations and visitor transportation.

Contributing to natural habitat restoration and conservation: Participate in the restoration and conservation of natural environments.g

Strengthening responsible purchasing practices: Consolidate our responsible purchasing practices.

Enhancing waste sorting quality: Improve the quality of residual waste sorting.

Social implication

TournevenT also aims to highlight the benefits of healthy eating. This is why we are proud to support organizations and associations through sponsorships and local initiatives, encouraging them in the realization and promotion of their projects.
